The Full Story

It all started with a yellow post-it note...

As I had always been hungry for adventure and an adrenaline junkie for all things exploration, it wasn't until 2017 when I woke up one morning and had the idea that we, my wife, Mia, son, Parker and daughter, Piper, were going to travel the world! I mean what better way to lock-in family time, create cherished memories and carve out family bonding. I quickly strategized which countries and continents to visit by the year, wrote it down on a sticky note and proceeded to announce this plan moments later downstairs at breakfast. Of course, they laughed it off as another 'crazy dad idea' and proceeded to munch on their bacon and pancakes. However, fast-forward seven years, 40+ countries, six continents (with plans for Antarctica '25) and almost all 50 US states, we can now call ourselves "world travelers". Just .02% of the planet's population have been to all seven continents, making our trains, planes and automobiles (possibly with a camel & donkey mixed in) your personal wealth of travel knowledge. You could say my zest for life to quench all that is out there beyond the small New England area I originate from may have initiated back when I was a child during a family vacation to Disney's Epcot World Showcase. I was absolutely mesmerized by the various peoples, contrasting languages, foreign foods and native traditions. I was hooked and couldn't get enough. Now, as an adult with countless trips all over the globe, our intention is to feed your ambitions for exploration, to quench your thirst for travel, and for you to be able to say 'we've done that' or 'we've been there'. Thus, whether you want a solo backpack trip for yourself, a wild family adventure to witness a unique culture or a large group of friends, yearning to taste the delicacies of all that exists, we got you covered! The Founder and Chief Exploration Officer acts much like the head chef of a gourmet restaurant. Pete has tasted all the delicious dishes and exciting destinations that the company offers. Just like a skilled chef creates mouthwatering meals that leave customers craving more, our CEO plans unforgettable adventures that keep travelers coming back for seconds. Setting the menu and steering the ship, he follows thru that every journey is a delectable experience.

Erica Horenstein, CMO

Our Chief Menu Officer, Erica, is the backbone to our company. She's like the ultimate foodie influencer making sure everyone takes a bite out of our full menu of offerings. Being a small company we pack a lot into our bags of responsibility and Erica is there to creatively mastermind it all ensuring our clients experience the highest level of service from start to finish.

Mia Davekos, CBO

Our sous chef, who as Chief Booking Officer, handles the finite details to our trips. Negotiating lower fares, group travel perks and upgrading accommodations and locking it all in falls on the shoulders of Mia. Known for her steadfast approach to organization and simplistic travel fortitude, every step of the way is securely confirmed.

Adam Horenstein, CFO

The Chief FUNancial Officer, Adam, is our Master Chef of finances. Carefully measuring and mixing all the ingredients to create a delicious, cost-effective alternative travel dish, he keeps THD thriving and growing. Just like a chef adds the perfect amount of seasoning, Adam ensures the right financial decisions are made.
